I headed up to the mast and released the main halyard clutch… too late to notice that I had cleated the coil just below the clutch. With the halyard fully jammed

Childhood Experiences… Missing

Ruby understands that there are many things we will be giving up to go sailing around the world but I don't think she's got the context to understand it fully yet. The following are some of the experiences that Ruby and Miles might never share with their peers.

Bacon or Meatballs, What Makes a Better Sundae?

by Tucker Bradford on June 27, 2009

I haven’t actually read this book, but I found the title intriguing. The title suggests that if you aren’t paying attention to your customers needs, then you may find yourself putting whipped cream and a cherry on a meatball. When I read the title, I had two strong and immediate impressions.

First, “yuck.” I said it out loud. Ruby, of course, asked what I was talking about. I told her the title, and asked if she would like a meatball sundae. “No way,” she replied ” I would want a meatball plain and cherries and whipped cream plain too.”

The second thing I thought was, “Now if that were a bacon sundae he would be on to something.” I find this amusing on several counts. First, it reinforces the title, because bacon is in, and any self respecting meat-product sundae maker would know that. Second, my friends and I concocted just such a sundae (concept) over dinner a few weeks ago.

So, please comment. How do you get to know your customers? What crazy bacon combo have you tried or thought of? Have you read this book? Should I?

Bacon is the work of satan, too horrible to even consider for a book title, never mind a dessert.

I hope one day you’ll get a chance to check out the inside!

Too funny. I really enjoyed the chocolate covered bacon with whipped cream that my friends made (spontaneously) at a dinner party recently. I was hesitant at first, but eventually won over. I’ve put Meatball Sundae in my queue!

Genna had a peanut butter, bacon, and green apple sandwich on cinnamon raisin bread this past weekend. It was pretty tasty. No bacon sundae, but still good.

Good lord, if you google Bacon Sundae right now this article is the FIRST HIT. What can I do to maintain my search engine superiority? I’m going to have to write an article on Bacon Sundae.
